Our Learning:

The children watched a slide show of Mrs. Laser's history, family and favorite things and then the students drew pictures and labelled their favorite things.  It was great to see students s t r e t c h i n g their words and writing the beginning, middle and end sounds.  We also continued to work on our oral storytelling using expression.  Please set aside some time to listen to your child tell you the story of the gingerbread boy with the purple strip and encourage them to use their "best expression".  





On Thursday, we had an unexpected visit from a leprechaun, which we needed to build a trap for.  This was so fun!  













We also played a game called Roll and Write, which helps children refine their number formation.




Spring Break Educational Ideas:

 Rainbow Names - Have your child write their name in as many colors as they can.  Please ask them to do the first letter with an upper case and the remaining letters to be lower case.

Snakes and Ladders - This classic game will help your child subitize (know at a glance) a dice.  If one dice is easy try and use two.

Journal writing - Have your child draw a picture of the favorite thing they did over Spring break.  Please tell them that Mrs. Laser will be SO happy if they use KID writing (using beginning middle and end sounds) to explain their picture.  Labels and/or simple sentences would be FANTASTIC!!!

A Family Hike - When we get back we will be learning about the five senses.  During your walk please draw your child's attention to what they:  see, hear, touch, smell and maybe even taste.


Help Needed! 

Are you looking for a fun Spring Break project?  Our class is hoping to create a rainbow rice center.  If you would like to contribute, we would greatly appreciate it!





You will need to combine one cup of white rice + 1 teaspoon white vinegar + several squirts of food coloring. Mix this up in a ziplock bag or resealable container, and lay it to dry on newspaper, paper towel or a paper plate. Please make a few cups worth of the same color or even fill a zip-lock bag if you can.  Thanks SO much!

The children will love to see all of the different colors get mixed together in the bin.

  Our Learning: This week we created a classroom book called "We LOVE Ms. T". The children were very thoughtful in sharing all the reasons why they love Ms. T.  The pictures they drew were detailed and carefully colored. The English kindergarten was so fortunate to have such a caring, organized and hard working teacher!  Ms. T will be missed.💜  This week we also read several versions of the Gingerbread man.  The children sequenced the characters and event of the story and we are beginning to talk about what makes a good storyteller.   Dates to Remember: March 13 – Daylight Savings – “Spring Ahead” Monday, March 14 – Tuscany School Unique Sock Day Thursday, March 17 – Wear Green Day Friday, March 18 - AM Class attends 8:30 to 12:40 March 21–25 Spring Break No School  Wednesday, March 30 - Coulee Trip (3 parent volunteers needed per class).  The sign up genius will be coming soon!

  Our Learning: This week we reviewed what it means to fill and dip from a bucket based on the book, "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" and we did an art project based on the zones of regulation.  We all want to be socially strong as we head into summer and then grade one.  We also worked on our Father's Day activity, ordered dice from smallest to largest and observed our chrysalis'.
